To me, growing plants from seeds is magical. You take a tiny – or not so tiny – seed, place it in or on the soil, give it some moisture and light, and, voila, up pops a baby plant.
Riiight, you say! How come I plant seeds and nothing happens, you ask? Or, they start to come up and then fall over, you cry. (That’s called Damping Off, by the way. It’s caused by a fungus.)
Seed starting does have a few conditions that need to be met. Much of the information you need is on the back of the package. And, in the case of the Botanical Interests seeds I sell, there is information on the inside of the seed packet, too. There is so much good information for you on the Botanical Interests Seed Website– tomato growing tips, common gardening terms, coloring books and, of course, seeds!
For a more in depth look at starting seeds, Botanical Interests has created a Seed Starting Guide.
